- be able to break it up to thirds both horizontally and vertically
- subject matter occupies 2/3 of the photo and 1/3 has background
6. Leading Lines
- Both literal and implied
7. Balance
- size, shape, color, geometric
8. Use of framing
- could be a wall or a person or anything that helps you focus on the subject on the photo
9. Avoid Mergers
- dont have things growing out of people's heads
- no background noise
10. Room for logical movement
- allow room for your subject to move within the frame
